Ammonites were shelled cephalopods that went extinct with the dinosaurs about 66 million years ago.

They are famous for conforming to the Golden Ratio of the Fibonacci sequence, also known as sacred geometry. Humans have probably known about the Fibonacci sequence for millennia — mathematical ideas around this interesting pattern date to ancient sanskrit texts from between 600 and 800 B.C.E.

The surface of this ammonite fossil is almost completely smooth, with the exception of a few druzy pockets. It has been electroformed in copper and the fossil itself measures about 2 inches.

Comes on a 24-inch copper box chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout. All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
