This piece is made with a real diaphonized mouse, carefully preserved and sealed in a cylindrical glass vial, electroformed in copper with a sparkly opal at the top and pink chalcedony on the bottom. Look closely to see all of its tiny bones!
Diaphonization is a preservation technique invented in the 1970s to get a better look at a creatures anatomy. Also referred to as "clearing and staining," it uses chemicals to first remove all color, then dye the muscles, bones, and cartilage.
This piece measures about 3 inches in length, and comes on a 20-inch antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
