This tiny fossilized shark tooth was found in Peace River, FL, a popular fossil hunting area. Fossilized teeth in Florida date back millions of years, as Florida slowly emerged from being almost completely underwater. As the Appalachian Mountains were formed, nutrients and sediment were washed over Florida, submerging countless marine and land animals. Most of these fossil formations are underground, but rivers expose these formations and allow us to easily collect fossils.
This piece is made using a fossilized sharks tooth, adorned with a small labradorite stone and electroformed in 100% copper.
Labradorite is known as a stone of transformation and magic, and its pale, glowing blue color was chosen to represent the shallow seas where this shark once lived.
Comes on an 18-inch thin antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
