Check out the details on this piece! Look closely and you can see the tiniest little bones on this real diaphonized mouse.
Diaphonization is a preservation technique invented in the 1970s to get a better look at a creatures anatomy. Also referred to as "clearing and staining," it uses chemicals to first remove all color, then dye the muscles, bones, and cartilage.
This (ethically sourced - natural death) mouse has been professionally diaphonized, permantly sealed, and electroformed in copper along with two large ametrine crystals to create a unique, test tube-like pendant.
The full length of the piece is 4.5 inches, and comes on a thick 22-inch antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
