Bald-Faced Hornet
Bald-Faced Hornet
Bald-faced hornets, known for their striking black and white coloration, are actually a type of wasp rather than a true hornet. Despite their intimidating appearance, they play a vital role in controlling insect populations and are skilled architects of their paper-like nests, constructed from chewed-up wood fibers.
This wasp was collected after its natural death, never killed. It has been electroformed in 100% copper with a real paper wasp nest and a bright yellow heated amethyst (often called citrine) crystal.
This piece measures about 2 inches in length and comes on a 20-inch antiqued copper chain with a 2-inch extender. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
