Heart-Shaped Diaphonized Mouse

This piece is made with a real diaphonized pinkie mouse, carefully preserved and sealed in a heart-shaped glass vial, electroformed in copper with an amethyst crystal at the top and mystic topaz at the bottom. Look closely to see all of its tiny bones!

Diaphonization is a preservation technique invented in the 1970s to get a better look at a creatures anatomy. Also referred to as "clearing and staining," it uses chemicals to first remove all color, then dye the muscles, bones, and cartilage.

This piece measures about 2.5 inches in length, and comes on an 18-inch antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
