There are three types of honey bees within a hive: the queen, the workers, and the drones. A queen bee is the only female bee in the hive that gets to reproduce. Worker bees are all female, and are all offspring of the queen.
This piece was created using a preserved female worker bee, collected and donated by a local beekeeper after its natural death - never bought or killed for the purpose of creating art. It has been electroformed in 100% copper with a real paper wasp nest and a bright yellow heated amethyst (often called citrine) crystal.
This piece measures about 2.25 inches in length and comes on a 20-inch antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest.
