Luna Moth

This real luna moth was raised by a breeder, living out its full natural life cycle. On its back are two eyespots, thought to help deter predators, and these have been accentuated by two glass "windows."

Its abdomen has also been replaced by a pale green prehnite crystal, a volcanic stone associated with dreaming, prophecy, and unconditional love. How fitting that it would be paired with this moth, named after the night and the moon, a symbol of intuition and imagination.

Look closely and you can see the fine details of the wing, delicately coated in metal.
