Octopus Tentacle Round Vial
Octopus Tentacle Round Vial
This octopus tentacle (okay, they're technically called "arms," but tentacle just sounds so much cooler) wet specimen necklace is completely preserved and sealed in an electroformed round glass jar. The vial itself is round but also flat rather than a sphere, making it less susceptible to being knocked around.
Each octopus tentacle/arm is ethically sourced - they are a byproduct of the seafood industry and have been marked unusable for consumption. After being professionally "fixed" with formalin, they are stored in a 70/30 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (for preservation) and glycerin (to reduce evaporation). They are sealed with a layer of silicone and then a layer of epoxy clay before being covered in copper.
This piece measures about 2 inches in length and comes on a 20-inch antiqued copper chain. If you would prefer a different length of chain or leather cord, please include a note at checkout.
All electroformed jewelry includes a copper care sheet as well as a jewelry polishing cloth to keep your piece looking its finest. Wet specimen pieces include an additional care sheet to help protect your specimen.
