Black Roe Deer Skull

This piece is inspired by black and white tattoos, and the idea of peering into the depths of someone's heart, revealing both its beauty and its shadows.

The roe deer, also known as a roebuck, is native to the UK and smaller than our average American whitetail. This skull was salvaged from a group of antique skulls and antlers imported from the UK.

The entire skull measures about 10 inches in length. It has been sealed with a protective clear coat but is not suited for outdoor display. 

A black ribbon is wrapped through the zygomatic arches for hanging, but the skull can also sit up on its own if you prefer.
